League 2 betting preview

League 2 07/08 outright betting

Big spending Peterborough are 4/1 favourites to win League 2 with Betfred. Manager Darren Ferguson has added a number of new faces to his squad including Dean Keates and Micah Hyde, who have dropped down divisions to join the Posh. However, not since 1999 have the favourites won this division, and Ferguson is still an inexperienced manager making the Posh poor value.

Last season, the four relegated clubs from League 1 all finished in the top 4 positions of League 2. Of those relegated last season, Bradford make most appeal at best odds 12/1 with Bet 365. having sold over 11,000 season tickets, Valley Parade could be a fortress next season.

MK Dons will be playing in an empty stadium next season which could prove difficult. Paul Ince worked miracles at Macclesfield last season and will need to do the same for MK Dons to win this division after the departure of star striker Izale McLeod to Charlton. Betfred offer a standout price of 9/1 on MK Dons winning league 2.

Darlington are expected to go well this season after signing strike Pawel Abbott who was prolific at this level for Huddersfield. Darlington can be backed at 14/1 with Bet365 and are worth a small each-way interest.

Rochdale could be a team to watch out for after finishing strongly last season. Losing just 3 games after Christmas, and collecting a massive 48 points in the second half of the season, this could be the year Rochdale taste promotion for the first time in their history. Paddy Power make Rochdale an 18/1 shot which is worth an each way bet.
