Daniel Negreanu is one of the world’s richest poker players with career earnings in excess of $9.5 million. Negreanu was named poker player of the year for 2004 by Card Player magazine after winning $4.5million from poker, and also boasts 3 WSOP bracelets and 2 WPT titles.
Negreanu dropped out of college to move to Las Vegas to pursue his interest in poker and has never looked back. Negreanu’s first tournament success came in 1997 at the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods Casino.
Negreanu’s biggest tournament win came in 2004 when he clinched the WPT Five-Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas where he scooped $1.7m. The WPT is considered as Negreanu’s best tournament series where he leads the all time money list, and is currently ranked 3 rd in the all time poker earnings.
Negreanu has campaigned for poker to become a sport, and describes the game as a "healthy profession, even if it's not traditional."
